Podcasting and its role in Education
CIMC Workshop, Fall 2006
Podcasting describes a method of distributing audio and video programs via the Internet that lets users subscribe to a number of files, also known as “feeds,” and then hear or view the material at the time that they choose. A podcast is usually in the MP3 audio format. So, what role does podcasting play in education? Podcasting is a great vehicle for finding audio news and information from a variety of sources around the world. This new technology also makes it easy for students to produce and publish their own audio files online.
